Foreign data wrappers
Tested with: Not yet available on Databasezy · describes the launch design
Foreign data wrappers make data that lives elsewhere look like tables in your Postgres database, so you can join it with your own rows in one query.
How it works (at launch)
Section titled “How it works (at launch)”- Pick a source in the portal (Stripe, S3, ClickHouse, BigQuery, Airtable, Firebase, or another Postgres server with
postgres_fdw), enter its credentials and choose the tables to import. A preview shows rows before anything is created. - Credentials are stored encrypted in your database, never in the control plane.
- The wrapper’s tables live in a schema you choose, governed by the same grants and policies as your own tables.
